I'm thinking of writing LampCMS API in Node.js

Hello everybody.
Lampcms already has a REST API, written in php and in comes with the LampCMS program

What I want to do it to write a new API completely in Node.js
It will basically be a separate application, the only thing it will have in common will be the MongoDB database.
Basically the Node.js based program will use the same database as Lampcms front-end.

Honestly I just want to experiment with Node.js and I also thinking the API written in Node will be faster than in php and will be able to serve more requests.

In the future maybe I will also write a chat for Lampcms in Node.js

Does anyone know Node.js? I have not used it myself, just getting started. It does not look at that difficult and there are many good libraries out there. For example I will probably be using Restify, which looks like a perfect framework for writing REST API.

Just wondering what do you thing about this idea?

PS (in the more distant future I also want to experiment with Play2 framework and write an API in Scala, but that will be months from now)

Great idea. What's the status of the development?

Sounds like fun, I'm still trying to get my current LampCMS install working though
